Protection Program Manager

The Role

We’re eager to find someone who’s been in a leadership position in community work. Specifically, we’re looking for someone with experience providing specialized therapeutic support to children and young people who have experienced trauma. Could this be you?

The job involves overseeing all aspects of operations management, making sure kids who’ve faced abuse get the required support services, and helping families facing challenges. You will work closely with family violence services (government) and various organizations developing and implementing trauma-informed approaches that promote healing and recovery. This job requires a heart full of compassion and hands ready to make a difference.

Here’s a little about what we are looking for in our ideal candidate:

  1. Education – A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline.
  2. Eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direct service in the clinical assessment and therapeutic support of children, young people and families.
  4. Substantial experience in the area of child abuse and family violence, and/or in working with traumatised children, including delivering a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions to the client group.
  5. Expertise – A highly developed understanding of child protection issues.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively and the capacity to negotiate and liaise with children, young people, parents, carers, families, other agencies and the community.
  7. Cultural Awareness – A solid understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds is important in this role.
  8. Current driver’s licence.
