One Thousand Villages provides assistance and support to help women and girls who have experienced violence and abuse. 

Two decades ago, Justin Whitecross started programs to help victims of sexual exploitation. Justin used his own money to develop local initiatives and eventually found enough willing supporters to enable him to build infrastructure and the foundation from scratch. 

Despite many challenges over the years, we believe in the value of our approach to address the needs of young women and families with young children. Relationships are critical to this work. This involves building trust, skills, networks and linkages with local residents, business, and community groups.
