One Thousand Villages provides immediate assistance to those affected by disasters, helping them to survive and recover. We make sure families have the basics covered – from food and water to healthcare and nutrition for children.

Some examples of past responses include aiding in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami, responding to Cyclone Nargis in 2008, and assisting numerous times in Myanmar with internally displaced persons (IDPs). Most recently, we were on the ground helping those affected by the earthquake in Myanmar.
